One done, more to go (updated) and goldmine

Before the normal work I went with Sammy to the Orphanage with transport help from our office. The coconut stock is o.k. now.
Just back to my database tables windows procedures and documents.

After setting up the management of the system we had to leave to the goldmines .... we were not allowed to make pictures around the facilities. So just an entrance picture below. We went to Goldfields a South African company who mine the gold in an open pit. Before this could start they have transferred several communities to a new village outside the mining area. They still provide substantial support e.g. with creating new fish ponds to this new village east of Tarkwa.

  1. Hi Bartho,

I'm following your blog on a daily basis. But could you tell me in short what the team is trying to achieve?

    1. Hi Stan, in my "Midpoint" post I wrote some about the work of our sub team for the Assembly. Our's is quite raional: make a databse to make work lighter and keep track of all to-be reported infomation from the Assembly to the state. Good reporting means money, which means a better functioning Municipality for it's citizens. Two other teams advise the Municipality on various subjects where and how they can improve in certain are's. One team is working at the hospital. There is a new hospital but there is a lack of logistic skills how to transform from the old to the new hospital. They help with a decent plan. Hope this clarifies.

About the Orphanage: because almost all funds and activities are (of course) in favor of the chilren there is less focus on maintenance (and cleaning) of the environment. We supported the local team in just doing some of the work, but also to show them how they can improve their environment.

      Bartho
